Alternative Medicine Breast Cysts Treatment

                                                                     Breast Cysts Gone Permanently
Alternative Medicine Explanation of the Symptoms that go along with Breast Cysts

Microcalcifications and Breast Cysts

Breast cysts are like fluid filled grapes in the breast and typically are PAINFUL and vary with the menstrual cycle. Breast cysts will occur where ever there is breast tissue. Since breast tissue may occur in the arm pit, breast cysts may occur there too. The pain typically varies with the menstrual cycle as well. In contrast, breast cancer is PAINLESS, but not always. The small calcifications in the breast that can be seen on mamography are typically due to low magnesium (see below). The low magnesium is caused by Estrogen Dominance caused by xenoestrogens (chemical estrogens) and phytoestrogens that mimic and pretend to be estrogen. Avoiding xenestrogens and phytoestrogens, and taking progesterone cream is the routine alternative medicine approach to breast cysts. Replacing the lost magnesium may help get rid of the microcalcifications in the breast. Calcium and magnesium are interdependent. One goes high and the other goes low. Some alternative medicine practitioners will try to correct the magnesium and calcium levels without first dealing with the root causes. This of course is crazy.

Other Associated Symptoms that go with Breast Cysts

Because Estrogen Dominance causes breast cysts, lets review the symptoms of Estrogen Dominance. Estrogen Dominance (too much estrogen) causes premenstrual syndrome - PMS. There are many symptoms of PMS. Here is a list from John Lee, MD:

  • Alcohal intolerance - if the patient has low level anxiety
  • Increased Acceleration of the aging process
  • Acne that varies with the menstrual cycle
  • Allergies, including asthma, hives, rashes, sinus congestion - if the patient has low level anxiety

  • Weight gain especially around the belly and hips
  • Zinc deficiency

Symptom varies with the Menstrual Cycle

If the symptom varies with the menstrual cycle, then it is hormone related.

Again, the alternative medicine approach suggests that if the symptom varies with the menstrual cycle then it is hormone related.

Bloated and Water Retention

The most common symptom that I use to assess a patient is weight gain before the period and breast tenderness before the period. The women feel "bloated". This weight gain before the period is caused by water retention. Some medical doctor internists describe this as "cyclical edema". This effect is used by cattle ranchers to increase beef tenderness by increasing the weight of the beef with the retention of water. This is one of the ways that synthetic estrogen is used in the farming of cattle. One of my patients remarked that she knows exactly the way the cattle feel! As my patients rid their environment of xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens, the breast tenderness, and water retention should get better as the months pass on. If it does not then we are missing something in the patient's environment. A common xenoestrogen is laundry detergent. This was a major surprise for me, and it took several years to learn about laundry detergent when I first started treating patients with progesterone cream in 1999.

Hypothyroid, but Normal Lab Tests

Estrogen Dominance most frequently causes hypothyroid symptoms of hair thinning, eyebrow thinning, cold body temperature (about 97F), low energy, and hip and belly fat, but WITH normal lab results of FREE T3 and TSH. The lab thyroid tests will be normal, BUT the patient appears by symptoms to be hypothyroid. An unaware Medical Doctor will rely on the lab test, and typically say to the patient that "you are normal" and dismiss the patients complaints. In fact, a physician that gives out synthetic estrogen as a normal practice either as birth control pills, menopause symptom release, or less commonly now a days for osteoporosis will notice that the patients begin to look hypothyroid. These synthetic estogens may be classified as xenoestrogens. And of course the breast cysts will get worse. The astute physician, either peddling synthetic estrogens or responding to complaints of hair thinning, eyebrow thinning, cold body temperature, low energy and fat on the belly and hips despite dieting and exercise will give the patient a little bit of thyroid hormone. The patient improves with the little bit of thyroid hormone. Everyone is happy. The patient is happy. The doctor is happy. The pharmaceutical company is happy. Everyone is happy, and everyone is busy. Everyone has a job.

Women will have a sugar craving from these hormone changes and eat more as a primal urge. This will of course, result in gaining weight especially on the hips and thighs. If you want to loose weight, the trick is to first correct the hormone imbalances by avoiding xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens, and taking topical progesterone cream. Then you may diet. One of the most effective diets is the Shintani, MD diet in the book "Eat More, Weigh Less" found at www.amazon.com. This is a diet which physically fills the stomach up with foods that are low in calories, but high in volume (ie carrots, lettuce vegetables). The body does not think it is starving since the stomach is physically full and thyroid function goes up.

Alternative medicine breast cysts treatment believes in getting rid of the source of Estrogen Dominance. Then you don't need the thyroid hormone. You don't get hair thinning. You don't have fat on the belly and hips that don't go away even with exercise and dieting. Fat on the belly and hips just goes away without dieting and exercise. Unfortunately, you don't buy as many expensive products. You don't visit the doctor. You don't buy the expensive drugs. People are NOT busy, and people don't have jobs. So the super smart astute doctor will advise the patient to get rid of xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens and work himself out of a job. Many people will advise the super smart astute doctor that this is a bad business practice because the patients cure themselves and don't come back. It is bad business.

Estrogen Dominance also causes sugar craving. In general, hormones are chemical messengers. Estrogen Dominance sends the false message, "Build up fat for the pregnancy." Estrogen Dominance does this by decreasing the sensitivity of the thyroid receptor, so even if there are normal levels of thyroid hormone and TSH the patient still looks hypothyroid. Typically, you order a "Free T3" and a TSH blood level.

Diseases Related to Estrogen Dominance

Estrogen Dominance causes many clinical diseases such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovarian disease, uterine fibroids, myomas, probably breast fibroadenomas, gynecomastia, small penises, large breasts, breast cysts, infertility, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy, sebborhaic keratosis ("stuck on pancakes on the skin"), hypothyroid, premenstrual syndrome, crevical cancer, cervical dysplasia, irritability, mood swings before the period, acne that varies with the period, painful periods, heavy bleeding during periods, dysmenorrhea, and menorrhagia. Any side effect in the Physician's Desk Reference when you overdose a patient with synthetic estrogen ( and many of the above are listed ) is a symptom of Estrogen Dominance. And there you have it, a medical authority that says too much estrogen - Estrogen Dominance does these bad things to your body.

Any symptom that varies with the menstrual cycle is related to Estrogen Dominance.

Estrogen Dominance and Men

For men, Estrogen Dominance, gives them large bellies with belly fat. The men develop large breasts. The medical term for large breasts in men is gynecomastia. They develop small penises. The uterus and prostate are embryologically the same. So the men develop benign prostatic hypertrophy, and prostate cancer. Even mainstream medical authorities recognize that endometrial cancer and breast cancer is caused by too much estrogen. For instance, everyone knows that beer drinkers develop a "beer belly". Increased calories are frequently blamed. But that is not the whole story. Hops in the beer is a major ingredient to give flavor to the beer. Hops are a phytoestrogen. Hops imitates estrogen. Hops hormonally causes the fat on the belly, small penises, and large breasts. If you don't want fat on the belly, small penises, and large breasts on a man then don't drink hops. Alternative medicine for breast cysts also applies to men that frequently drink hops and get small penises, fat belly and large breasts. I would be interested to know whether or not hops affects sexual performance.

Chocolate Craving

One interesting effect of Estrogen Dominance is a chocolate craving right before the period. Estrogen Dominance creates a magnesium deficiency, Vitamin B deficiency, and high copper levels. Chocolate is one of the foods that is highest in Magnesium. So when you have a chocolate craving this indicates a magnesium deficiency. Typically this chocolate craving occurs right before a period which indicates a hormone problem. If you take an easily absorbed chelated magnesium such as magnesium glycinate, then the chocolate craving will go away. A chelated magnesium is 40% absorbed, however, magnesium oxide is only 4% absorbed. Take 400-600 mg/day of magnesium or more. You cannot over dose on magnesium, however, it may cause loose stools if too much is taken all at once. A magnesium deficiency results in muscles being tense and muscle spasms. This can result in constipation, since the intestinal muscle tense up and contribute to constipation. The leg muscles may jerk and spasm especially at night, and this is part of the symptoms of "restless leg syndrome".

Vitamin B Deficiency

Another interesting effect of Estrogen Dominance is a Vitamin B deficiency. Vitamin B deficiencies may cause neuropathies (nerve disease). There may or may not be a creepy crawling feeling on the legs or a burning sensation on the legs. This is less common in my patients. This is labeled by many medical authorities as "restless leg syndrome". The leg jerking and leg spasms are due to muscle tensing caused by Magnesium deficiency. Take a Vitamin B-100 in the morning. Vitamin B is water soluble, so if you take too much it just washes out in the urine. Do NOT take Vitamin B just before you sleep otherwise you will have vivid dreams.

Insomnia

Estrogen Dominance can also cause insomnia especially if the insomnia started after age 35 when anovulatory cycles are common. Topical progesterone cream solves the insomnia quite nicely without the "hang over" that is common with other drugs such ast Restoril or benzodizapenes. I have some patients take progesterone cream right before going to sleep just to have a good sleep. These patients claim to wake up in the morning feeling great without the hang over.

High copper and Irritability

Estrogen Dominance cause high copper levels in the body. This makes you "crazy", irritable and generally hard to live with. Some of my patients were on the verge of being fired from their job because of their erratic behavior from Estrogen Dominance. They were high strung and stressed out. However, after getting rid of xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens and using topical progesterone cream, events that stressed them out before were "no big deal". I had one lawyer in California, that would yell at the kids and the dog would be yelping, and the UPS man was at the door. She would start to yell at the kids. Now after getting rid of the Estrogen Dominance and taking Progesterone Cream, the whole situation was "no big deal". There were chocolate truffles sitting on the table. Before she could not help herself and binge on chocolate. Now the chocolate truffles were "just sitting on the table" and she felt no temptation to eat them at all. Eventually, she found that if she just avoided xeonestrogens and phytoestrogens, she did not need the progesterone cream at all.

Acne

Acne that varies with the menstrual cycle is obviously hormone related. Eating simple carbohydrates, xenoestrogens, and phytoestrogens cause this type of acne. Avoiding xenoestrogens, phytoestrogens, and taking progesterone is a simple cure for this type of acne that varies with the menstrual cycle. The xenoestrogens and other chemicals can cause male hormones such as testosterone to be elevated and this causes the acne. Ironically, many of the commercial acne creams used to treat acne that kills the bacteria that creates the acne have chemicals in them that mimic estrogen and are xenoestrogens. If the acne varies with the period, then it is hormonal and creates the conditions for the bacteria to flourish on the skin. The topical acne cream only cures the symptom of the problem, not the root cause of the problem. For John Lee, MD's explanation of acne and the use of progesterone cream to solve the problem go here.

No sex drive, No Libido

Typically, Estrogen Dominant women have little or no sex drive or libido at all. However, once xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens are taken out of the environment and progesterone cream is used, the sex drive comes back after 2-3 months. It takes 2-3 months because chemicals that are put on the skin and absorbed typically take 2-3 months to wash out of the body. Typically, the husbands of women that have their sex life resurrected are the most grateful of all. I have one patient that claimed to put progesterone directly on her clitoris and she began to experience orgasms for the first time. I do not know if this is a consistent reaction with all patients. I would recommend that you make sure that you are not allergic to the progesterone cream base before putting progesterone cream on any sensitive spot on your body. However, for most, if not the majority of patients, using topical progesterone cream, avoiding xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens increases the sex drive back up to normal. You will NOT become a sex crazed Amazon. Your husband will just look better.

Emotional Depression

Depression is a very common in Estrogen Dominant women. Again avoiding xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens and using progesterone cream after 2-3 months cures many of these depression problems. A drop in progesterone is the primary cause of post partum depression. During the third trimester of pregnancy, a woman's body produces 400 mg/day of progesterone. The placenta produces 400 mg/day of progesterone. After birth, after the placenta is delivered, progesterone levels drop to nearly zero especially and most commonly if the woman is breast feeding and no menstrual cycle is occurring. This extreme drop in progesterone cause an emotional depression. The emotional post partum depression is easily fixed by using topical progesterone cream. It is important to start the progesterone cream after about 1 month of lactation and breast feeding. If the progesterone cream is starting too early after birth, then is MAY STOP lactation. There is no danger to the breast feeding infant from the progesterone. The baby was just exposed to high levels of progesterone in the womb. However, it is important to be very careful of the cream base that the progesterone is in. Some progesterone cream bases contain dangerous addtives and emulsifiers. To buy a pure progesterone cream go here.

Seborrahic Keratosis

An Estrogen Dominant woman may develop seborrahic keratosis that look like "stuck on pancakes" on the skin. When they first come out they may be a little itchy. Interesting enough, these seborrahic keratosis appear prominently as one of the side effects of estrogen birth control pills. Some patients find that putting a little progesterone cream on a band aide and putting it over the seborrahic keratosis makes the seborrahic keratosis go away especially in the very beginning when they first come out. The medical authority way of dealing with seborrahic keratosis is to simply cut them off using a special very flexible razor blade. This is called a shave biopsy.

Hemiangiomas

The Estrogen Dominant woman may also develop a benign liver ( hepatic ) hemangioma. A benign liver ( hepatic ) hemangioma is usually found by chance (incidentally) on a CAT scan. A hemangioma is a benign tumor of blood vessels. It is caused by Estrogen Dominance. Avoiding xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens and using topical progesterone cream may get rid of them. Some studies believe that all hemiangiomas may be linked to Estrogen Dominance. See the Wikipedia article here.

Allergies and Chemical Sensitivities

Typically, but not always the Estrogen Dominant woman demonstrates allergies and chemical sensitivities. The Estrogen Dominance does NOT cause the allergies. Rather the root cause of Estrogen Dominance is xenoestrogen and phytoestrogen exposure. And low level fear/stress/anxiety can cause an impaired ability to excrete these xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. Fear / Stress / Anxiety will also caused increased histamine levels and interleukin-6 levels which will also cause allergies and chemical sensitivities to increase. You may read the article here. Fear / stress / anxiety will cause cortisol levels to increase breifly, then the adrenal glands cannot keep up. Cortisol levels drop, and the patient can experience fatigue. So Estrogen Dominance does NOT cause allergies and chemical sensitivities, but rather, estrogen dominance and the estrogen diseases such as breast cysts is a secondary side effect of stress / fear / anxiety. At the head of the stream, is stress / fear /anxiety. Lower down the stream is xenoestrogen and phytoestrogen exposure. Lower down the stream is allergies and impaired excretion of xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. Still lower is the use of progesterone to counter the effect of xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. So the root cause of breast cysts and the alternative medicine approach would be to eliminate fear / stress / anxiety. It would not be the elimination of the circumstances that causes fear/stress/anxiety, but a way to deal with the fear / stress /anxiety. Pleasant Valley Church at www.pleasantvalleychurch.net has a very nice one week seminar that deals with this. Also though Estrogen Dominance causes copper levels to go high that causes you to be irritable and feel more stressed out. So the alternative medicine approach may actually stabilize some of the fear / stress / anxiety by using progesterone cream. But again you must cut out xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens otherwise this approach will not work. There may also be a "hidden" allergy to the progesterone cream base, not the progesterone that may temporarily cause anxiety.
